Getting Started
What is FreelancerHub?
FreelancerHub is an invoicing and client management app built specifically for freelancers. Create professional invoices, send quotes to clients, track payments, and manage VAT — all in one simple app.
Is it really free?
Yes! FreelancerHub is free to get started with full access to core features like invoicing, quotes, client management, VAT, and tax-year summaries. No credit card required.
Can I send invoices to clients?
Yes! You can email invoices and quotes directly from the app. Emails are sent from our domain (freelancerhub.io) with you CC'd, so you have a record of everything sent. Custom sending domains are coming soon.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes! FreelancerHub is designed mobile-first. It works great on your phone, tablet, or desktop browser. You can even install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for a native-like experience.
Invoicing & Payments
Can I import existing invoices?
Yes! You can import invoices via PDF or CSV. Our smart PDF parsing extracts client details, amounts, dates, and line items automatically to save you time.
Can I collect payments online?
Currently you mark invoices as paid manually once you receive payment via bank transfer or other methods. We're working on payment integrations.
Can clients accept or reject quotes?
Yes! When you send a quote, clients receive an email with accept/reject buttons. Once accepted, you can convert it to an invoice with one tap.
Can I have recurring invoices?
Yes! You can set up recurring invoices for retainer clients. They're generated as drafts on a schedule you choose, and you approve before sending.
VAT & Tax
Do you support VAT?
Absolutely. You can include or exclude VAT on invoices, and we calculate it automatically. FreelancerHub also provides tax-year summaries showing your VAT collected for UK tax year (April to April) or calendar year.
What's the difference between UK tax year and calendar year?
UK tax year runs from April 6 to April 5 the following year. Calendar year is January to December. You can choose which one to use for your tax summaries and reports.
Email & Reminders
Who do emails come from when I send an invoice?
Emails are sent from our domain (e.g., [email protected]) with you CC'd. This ensures reliable deliverability while keeping you in the loop on all client communications.
How do reminders work?
You can send reminder emails manually for overdue invoices directly from the app whenever you need to follow up with a client.
Clients & Intake
What currencies do you support?
We support multiple currencies including GBP (£), EUR (€), USD ($), and more. You can set a default currency per client.
What about client intake forms?
You can send intake forms to potential clients to collect their information. They fill it in, you review it, and approve them as a client when you're ready. It's a great way to qualify leads.
Can I request client details?
Yes! If you need more information from a client (like updated billing details), you can send a request form. The client fills it in and you get notified.
Security & Data
Is my data secure?
Yes. Your data is encrypted and stored securely. We never share your information with third parties. You own your data.
