By creating an account and using FreelancerHub ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

4. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • One person may not share an account with multiple users

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Send fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading invoices
  • Use the Service to spam or harass clients
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

6. Pricing & Payment

FreelancerHub is currently free to use for all core features. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in the future. If we do:

  • We will provide at least 30 days' notice before charging existing users
  • Core invoicing features will remain free or have a free tier option
  • You may cancel your account at any time to avoid charges

If paid plans are introduced, payments will be processed through a secure third-party provider. All fees are non-refundable unless required by law.

7. Your Data & Content

You retain all rights to the data you create in FreelancerHub (invoices, client details, etc.). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to:

  • Store and process your data to provide the Service
  • Send emails on your behalf (invoices, quotes, reminders)
  • Back up your data for security and recovery purposes

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you upload. You represent that:

  • You have the right to use and share the data (e.g., client contact details)
  • Your invoices comply with applicable tax and business laws
  • You will not use the Service to infringe on intellectual property or privacy rights

8. Email Sending

When you send invoices or quotes via FreelancerHub, emails are sent from our domain (e.g., [email protected]) with you CC'd. By using this feature, you agree that:

  • We may send emails to your clients on your behalf
  • You are responsible for the content of those emails
  • You will not use our email service for spam or abusive messages

We reserve the right to suspend email sending if we detect abuse or violations.

9. Data Security & Backups

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your password secure
  • Backing up critical data independently if desired
  • Monitoring your account for unauthorized activity

10. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time by contacting support. Upon cancellation:

  • Your access to the Service will be terminated
  • Your data will be deleted within 90 days (unless legally required to retain it)
  • We recommend exporting your data before cancellation

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we discontinue the Service.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

FreelancerHub is not a substitute for professional accounting or legal advice. We are not responsible for:

  • Tax compliance or accuracy of VAT calculations
  • Legal compliance of your invoices or business practices
  • Client payment disputes or non-payment

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FREELANCERHUB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR REVENUE.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim (currently £0 for free accounts).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold FreelancerHub harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your infringement of third-party rights

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice in the app. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
